Quantum Darwinism in a structured spin environment

چکیده

We examine the emergence and suppression of signatures quantum Darwinism when system interest interacts with a complex, structured environment. introduce an extended spin-star model where is coupled to $N$ independent spin-chains. Each site chain then lives in definite layer environment, hence we term this "onion" model. fix system-environment interaction such that classical objectivity guaranteed if environment consists single layer. Considering fully factorized initial state for all constituent sub-systems, how proliferation are delicately dependent on interaction, establishing chains considered as indivisible fragments be interrogated, characteristic redundancy plateaux always observed at least transiently. In contrast, observing redundant encoding specific highly sensitive nature interaction. Finally, consider case which each initialized ground Hamiltonian, shares qualitative features case, however now strength applied magnetic field has significant impact whether can observed. demonstrate presence or absence Darwinistic understood by analysing correlations within using total mutual information global discord.

Darwinism in Quantum Systems?

We find quantum mechanics playing a role in evolutionary dynamics described by the notion of an Evolutionarily Stable Strategy (ESS). An ESS being a refinement of Nash equilibrium concept is a stable strategy in an evolutionary game with replicator dynamic as the underlying process. We investigate ESSs in two and three player symmetric quantum games played by the proposed scheme of applying ′id...

Quantum Darwinism and Envariance*

Effective classicality of a property of a quantum system can be defined using redundancy of its record in the environment. This allowes quantum physics to approximate the situation encountered in the classical world: The information about a classical system can exist independently from its state. In quantum theory this is no longer possible: In an isolated quantum system the state and the infor...

Quantum Darwinism in quantum Brownian motion.

Quantum Darwinism--the redundant encoding of information about a decohering system in its environment--was proposed to reconcile the quantum nature of our Universe with apparent classicality. We report the first study of the dynamics of quantum Darwinism in a realistic model of decoherence, quantum Brownian motion. Prepared in a highly squeezed state--a macroscopic superposition--the system lea...

2 00 4 A simple example of “ Quantum Darwinism ” : Redundant information storage in many - spin environments

Abstract As quantum information science approaches the goal of constructing quantum computers, understanding loss of information through decoherence becomes increasingly important. The information about a system that can be obtained from its environment can facilitate quantum control and error correction. Moreover, observers gain most of their information indirectly, by monitoring (primarily ph...

Non-Markovianity hinders Quantum Darwinism

We investigate Quantum Darwinism and the emergence of a classical world from the quantum one in connection with the spectral properties of the environment. We use a microscopic model of quantum environment in which, by changing a simple system parameter, we can modify the information back flow from environment into the system, and therefore its non-Markovian character. We show that the presence...
